| 520 | _aOnline Open Courses (MOOCs) are increasingly being used by millions of people worldwide for various reasons, including college preparations, career development, and lifelong learning. Indian learners are increasingly recognizing the needs of the digital economy and building future-proof skills. Coursera has noted a rising uptake of courses related to professional certificates, which prepare learners without a college degree or technology experience for high-demand digital jobs. MOOCs offer a mix of readings, video lessons, pre-recorded refreshers, written assignments, forums, and voluntary multiple-choice activities. The online learning and the opportunity to interact with fellow participants make MOOCs not only a platform for professional development but also personal growth. In India, over 14 million learners have been added since January 2020, with an increasing number of women learners. edX.org, founded in 2012, has welcomed 10 times more new registered learners and saw a 15-time increase in course enrollments. Over 41 million learners and over 160 partner institutions use edX to increase access to high-quality education. | ||
