Determinants of Underpricing of Initial Public Offerings in India - 2021 Indian Institute Of Finance December 2021 - Vol. XXXV No 4 Pg - 1231-1244

This paper is aimed at empirically exploring the level of underpricing and determinants of underpricing of Initial Public Offerings (IPO’s) in Indian Capital Market. An under priced IPO is one in which final issue price is meaningfully lower the closing price of the stock on listing day. The scope of the study is limited to the sample of 350 IPOs listed on BSE between January 2007 to December 2015. It has been found that the sample IPOs are under priced by 16.30% with maximum level of underpricing of 243.55%
